Terms of use

Effective October 15, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Snowpex Technologies Private Limited (snowpex.com), based in India ("we", "us"). They apply to the Hidey app and this website. By using Hidey, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use Hidey.

The privacy policy, the refund policy and the acceptable use policy are part of these terms.

Who can use Hidey

You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live if that is higher, and able to agree to these terms.

Using Hidey

You may use Hidey for personal, lawful purposes, as described in the acceptable use policy. Don't try to attack, overload or reverse engineer the app or its services, except where the law allows it.

Your content

What you put in Hidey stays yours. These terms give us no rights to it, and we can't see it.

You hold the keys

Your files are encrypted on your phone, and we can't see them. That also means we can't recover them for you.

  • Keep your PIN or password safe. If you skip Google sign-in and forget your PIN, your vault can't be recovered.
  • If you use zero-knowledge mode, keep your recovery key safe. Without it, a forgotten PIN can't be reset.
  • Keep your backups. Losing your phone without a backup means losing what was on it.

Pro purchases and subscriptions

  • Pro is sold through Google Play as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices, including any taxes, are shown before you buy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling Hidey doesn't cancel a subscription.
  • If a subscription includes a free trial, it converts to a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel before then.
  • If a subscription price changes, Google Play tells you before the new price applies, and you can cancel before it does.
  • A lifetime purchase gives you Pro for as long as we offer Hidey, on the Google account you bought it with.
  • Google Play processes all payments. The refund policy explains how refunds work.

When Pro ends

When a subscription ends, Pro features switch off. Ads return, the calculator disguise is removed, hidden vaults are locked, and sync and screenshot blocking stop. Your data is not deleted, and everything returns if you subscribe again. Zero-knowledge mode stays on so your key is never uploaded without your consent.

Ads

The free version of Hidey shows ads served by Google AdMob. Ads never cover the photos and videos you are viewing.

Updates and availability

We may update Hidey to fix problems, improve security or change features, and some updates may be needed to keep using it. If we ever stop offering Hidey, we will say so in the app where we can. Your vault stays on your phone, and the files in your main vault can always be restored to your gallery for free.

Third-party services

Google Drive, Google Play, your S3-compatible storage provider and other services you connect are governed by their own terms. We're not responsible for their availability or for how they handle your data.

Our rights

Hidey, including its name, logo, design and code, belongs to us. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app. They don't transfer any ownership to you.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Disclaimer

Hidey is provided "as is" and "as available". We work hard to keep it reliable and secure, but we can't promise it will be free of errors or interruptions, or that no data will ever be lost. Keep backups of anything important.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Hidey. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for Pro in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our losses from claims made by others because you used Hidey in breach of these terms or the law.

Ending these terms

You can stop using Hidey at any time by uninstalling it. Cancel any subscription in Google Play first. If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may end your access to Pro, as far as the law allows.

Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we'll announce them in the app. Continuing to use Hidey after that means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India, unless the law of your country of residence gives you protections, or a right to go to your local courts, that can't be waived. Before going to court, please email us: most problems can be sorted out quickly.

General

If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term straight away, we can still enforce it later. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over Hidey, and your rights under them won't be reduced. You may not transfer them.
